Latest Edition: Legal forms for charities and not for profits
In this edition, Alan Eccles looks at the different legal forms that charities and not for profits bodies could take. The podcast discusses the need for prospective charity trustees to consider whether it is appropriate for them to establish as a company, trust or other legal entity. For existing charities, the need to ensure the defined charitable purposes are current and reflect the activities undertaking is also considered. The method of changing purposes and legal form is considered.
Not for profit organisations that are not charities, such as Community Interest Companies are also explained and their role in community projects and regeneration programmes is put in context.
