Alastair is an Associate in the firm’s Tax department. Having joined the firm on qualification in 2001, Alastair worked for a number of years in the firm’s Glasgow and Edinburgh offices, before moving to the London office in early 2005.

The focus of Alastair’s recent advisory work has been in the financial services sector, providing tax advice to investment funds, investment managers, pension funds, banks and other financial institutions on a wide range of matters, including M&A, fund formation, debt and equity investment, restructurings, employee incentives, tax-based investment products, and VAT and stamp taxes planning.

Alastair also works closely with colleagues in the firm’s Financial Services, Corporate and Real Estate divisions to provide tax advisory, drafting and negotiation support on their transactional work, including corporate M&A, joint venture and investments, real estate development and investment, and infrastructure projects.

Alastair is a member of the firm’s Investment Funds Group.
