Ian is a Director in the Financial Services Group based in London. Having qualified and practised in the area of banking and finance in the City of London in the early 1980s, Ian spent many years as Head of Legal at Norwich Union Investment Management, before returning to private practice in 2006.

Ian has a wide-ranging practice in the banking, insurance, investment and payment services sectors, acting for banks and insurance companies and other providers and intermediaries. Ian’s practice spans FSA and Consumer Credit Act regulation, as well as financial risk management.

Recent instructions include acting for Aviva Insurance, KBC Bank and WorldPay Limited and Ian has also advised the FSA and the Law Society on banking and financial services matters.

Ian is a visiting Fellow at the University of East Anglia Law Faculty in international finance law and regulation and regularly speaks and publishes on finance and financial services matters.
