Robert is a senior partner in the firm's Banking & Finance department. Robert trained with Slaughter and May in London where he qualified as an English lawyer and worked for 8 years in the corporate department before joining Maclay Murray & Spens in 1984. He became a partner a year later following his qualification as a Scottish lawyer. Robert's long experience of corporate finance and his frequent involvement in advising both borrowers and lenders in the normal course of their commercial banking relationships has provided him with broad knowledge of the issues involved in all types of corporate fund raising. He is also an expert in the project finance sector.
