MMS appoints seventh new partner in five months

NewsImages_470x120_#14

Maclay Murray & Spens LLP (MMS), the leading UK commercial law firm, has made its seventh partner appointment in five months, with the hire of Nick Rutter to the firm's financial services team. Nick Rutter, who will be based at MMS' London office, joins from Thomas Eggar, where he was head of its funds practice.

The announcement follows the appointment last month of litigation partner David Scott from rival McGrigors, to its Construction & Engineering team.

Chris Smylie, chief executive of MMS, said: "Nick's appointment further strengthens our highly-regarded financial services practice and is a clear signal of our continued commitment to investing in areas of strategic importance for the firm."

Nick Rutter brings to MMS extensive experience of authorised funds and unregulated collective investment schemes. His excellent reputation in the marketplace is borne out of a large number of years advising clients, such as ACDs, operators of unregulated schemes, investment managers, funds sponsors and offshore fiduciaries.
