Accessibility

We are committed to making our website as accessible as possible. We aim to meet Web Accessibility standards (W3C AA) in all parts of the website.

Site Design

Our site uses a common accessible design throughout this website rather than providing text only pages for disabled users.

Visual Design

This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. If your browser or browsing device does not support style sheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.

Navigation

All pages contain a link to the home page, and the menu system has been constructed in a consistent fashion throughout the website. A "breadcrumb" trail feature is provided to aid navigation in that it displays the current page’s context within the site structure.

Graphics

All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes. Complex images include LONGDESC attributes or inline descriptions to explain the significance of each image to non-visual readers.

Language

We have tried to ensure the language used in our sites is in plain English and is easy to read and understand. However, if you do find information which is difficult to understand, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Fonts

Font sizes can be changed by selecting the preferred text size link in the top right hand corner of all web pages.

Readspeaker
We use the Readspeaker speech system on our website so that visitors with visual problems can hear the content of the pages. At the top of every page there is a link titled "Listen to this page" which will open up Readspeaker. The web content can then be listened to in whole or part by using the different controls to activate the speech system.
