Alison is a Director based in our Glasgow office and has specialised in employment law for over 12 years. She works closely with our corporate, commercial contracts/outsourcing and property teams providing employment transactional support, with a particular focus and expertise in TUPE. This includes the drafting and negotiating of the relevant legal documentation, as well as advising clients on compliance and practical solutions to employment issues which arise. She brings to these projects her experience of working in house for a client on a substantial TUPE transfer, acting at the coal face in an HR role. She also advises on pensions issues which arise in relation to these projects, and has the Retirement Provision Certificate from the Pensions Management Institute. Alison supports and advises clients on the full range of human resource queries which arise from day to day. She acts for clients in employment tribunals and judicial mediations, predominantly for employers.
Alison also provides business related immigration advice including sponsorship licence applications, Resident Labour Market Test Compliance and Business Visitor Visas.
Alison is extremely commercial in her approach and ensures that her clients' commercial objectives are a priority. Her technical skills and eye for detail are excellent and she is able to use these to her clients’ advantage. Alison ensures that her clients are able to understand and properly address issues which are frequently very complex and is always a friendly and helpful source of advice. She works very efficiently and her project management skills ensure that employment and pensions aspects of transactions fit seamlessly into the other aspects of a deal.
Alison provides training on a wide range of employment issues, including how to handle outsourcing situations from an HR standpoint and immigration.
She is a member of the Firm’s Contracts and Outsourcing Group and the Financial Services Group.
