MMS is in the frame to receive one of the UK’s most prestigious professional branding accolades for the second year running, after being shortlisted for the MPF 2007 European Practice Management Awards, organised by the Managing Partners Forum. In addition to the “Best Brand in Practice” category, which MMS won in 2006, it has also been shortlisted for “Best Marketing Campaign” and is the only Scottish firm to be considered for either award.

David Sanders, director of marketing with Maclay Murray & Spens, said: “Winning the award last year was a tremendous boost and gave us a platform to develop the brand far more rapidly and ambitiously. Rather than resting on our laurels, we took a critical look at our brand values, improved consistency across all our output and introduced a raft of new initiatives. To be shortlisted for a second time, particularly alongside such well-established brands, is a gratifying endorsement of this bold strategy of constant refinement.”

One particularly noteworthy development has been launch of the firm’s online “KnowlEdge” service, which now forms the centrepiece of MMS’ web offering. An evolution of the successful “Very Smart People” campaign, KnowlEdge provides clients with targeted legal intelligence through a variety of media, including email updates, online guides and podcasts.
