Jonathan is a partner in the Corporate Department in the London office. He studied law at Bristol University and trained with Boodle Hatfield, the West End law firm, qualifying in 1988. Becoming a partner in 1997, he was the Head of Corporate at Boodle Hatfield from 2000 to 2003. Jonathan joined Maclay Murray & Spens as a partner in 2003.
He has a broad company and commercial practice with a particular emphasis on corporate finance. He acts for both issuers and advisers on the London Stock Exchange's Main and AIM markets advising on flotations, secondary issues and takeovers. In addition, Jonathan undertakes a wide range of work for entrepreneurs, smaller growing companies, family businesses and joint ventures, especially in the technology, mining, healthcare and financial services sectors. He frequently acts for US and other overseas companies establishing businesses in the UK.
Jonathan is a member of the firm's Capital Markets Group.
